OUR MISSION SINCE 1948
The University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital Service Committee supports the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital by providing services and/or supporting individualized programs to diminish the stress of hospitalization for patients and their families. We accomplish our purpose through direct service and fund-raising.
The Bobs Roberts Hospital Service Committee was organized in the spring of 1948 through the interest of the Auxiliary Committee of the University of Chicago Clinics, which gave the group of fourteen young women twenty-five dollars, a friendly advisor, and its blessing and encouragement.
In 2005, the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital opened. We are now the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital Service Committee.
The purpose of the Committee is to supplement the services of the hospital. We seek to lessen the trauma of hospitalization for these young hospital patients and their worried families by funding pilot and continuing projects which otherwise would not be available.
